What is Plug into Safety?

Plug into Safety is the Electrical Safety Council’s flagship campaign. The aim is to take Residual Current Device (RCDs) mainstream in much the same way that the benefits of having smoke alarms are now recognised and accepted and used by over 80% of UK households.

Its message is simple: “RCD protection can one day save your life”.

The campaign aims to raise general awareness of electrical safety and encourage householders having older electrical installations to upgrade to a modern consumer unit with built-in RCDs.

How you can help?

We believe that electricians and others within the electrical industry such as manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers can play a vital role as intermediaries to help deliver key electrical safety messages about the benefits of having RCD protection.

Electricians’ Packs

We have produced a FREE pack to help electricians promote the benefits of having RCD protection to their customers.

Each pack contains 50 Electrical Safety Council leaflets that electricians can use to pass on impartial information to their customers explaining the benefits of RCD protection. Each leaflet also provides householders with tips on electrical safety that could one day save their lives.
